STAGE CENTRE PRODUCTIONS CALL FOR DIRECTORS
Stage Centre Productions invites applications from directors for The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance.
The Elephant Man is a Tony Award-winning play based on the life of John Merrick. A Victorian Era surgeon rescues a heavily disfigured man who is mistreated while scraping a living as a side-show attraction and discovers that behind his monstrous façade is a person of kindness, intelligence, and sophistication.

- A cover letter stating your interest
- A current resume highlighting relevant experience
- Names and contact information of the last two theatre groups with which you worked as a director to be used as a reference

Stage Centre Productions is a:
- Community theatre/volunteer organization – all positions are non-union/non-paying
- Full repertory theatre company, and all casting has been selected by the Artistic Director
All rehearsals take place at the Stage Centre Productions rehearsal studio in Scarborough, ON near Midland station
All performances take place at Fairview Library Theatre, 35 Fairview Mall Drive, North York, ON
Directors selected for interview will be required to submit a full written proposal of 3-5 pages in advance of the interview; proposal requirements will be provided with interview invitation
The interview will be 25 minutes total which includes a 10-minute presentation and 15 minutes for questions from the Artistic Director’s committee.

Fundraisers
Do you have a knack for convincing people to support worthy causes? We could use your expertise to reach out to potential patrons and sponsors.
Costumers, carpenters, painters and prop makers
Are you handy with tools? A wizard with a paintbrush? Skilled at the sewing machine? Join our core team of volunteer artisans who – five times a year – turn wood, paint and fabric into the sets and costumes that make our shows come alive.
Researchers
Do you have a passion for history? Fascinated by the rich evolution of the theatre? Do you enjoy learning new things? Put your internet savvy to use and help us compile information about our audience, our productions and the glorious history of live theatre.
