Is He Dead? (May 16 – May 25, 2024)

Jean-Francois Millet, a young painter of genius, is in love with Marie Leroux but in debt to a villainous picture-dealer, Bastien Andre. Andre forecloses on Millet, threatening debtor’s prison unless Marie marries him. Millet realizes that the only way he can pay his debts and keep Marie from marrying Andre is to die, as it is only dead painters who achieve fame and fortune. Millet fakes his death and prospers, all while passing himself off as his own sister, the Widow Tillou. Now a rich “widow,” he must find a way to get out of a dress, return to life, and marry Marie.

Five Southern women whose friendship began many years ago on their College swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge their relationship.  Free from husbands, kids and jobs they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s outer banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The Sweet Delilah Swim Club is the story of five unforgettable women – a hilarious and touching comedy about friendship that lasts forever.

This adaptation of A Christmas Carol by Michael Shamata has been presented by Soulpepper Theatre for the past two seasons. Stage Centre Productions has been offered this new adaptation to present in our 2023 Season. We are very excited to be the first community theatre company to present this new Christmas tale.
